Nipple - Inversion Correction Before & After Case 227
Before & After
Case Details
This 36-year-old woman wanted to find a surgeon who could perform inverted nipple repair to correct her nipples. As can be seen in the "before" pictures, her nipples seemed to "pucker" inward, a condition that can inhibit activities like breast feeding. After researching nipple repair, she scheduled an appointment with one of the board-certified plastic surgeons at Dr. Stoker's practice.
During her consultation, her surgeon explained the procedure. He would use a duct sparing technique, where the milk duct is neither cut nor closed during surgery to better allow for breast feeding in the future. The technique would also help preserve nipple sensation, which nipple surgery can sometimes damage.
After her nipples were turned outward during surgery, her surgeon used dissolving stitches to keep the nipple in a normal, outward position. Then a stent was placed over her nipples to protect them and help preserve their position. Finally, she was given time to recover.
Following her Los Angeles plastic surgery, this patient was pleased with the new look of her nipples. There is minimal scarring visible in the "after" photos and her nipples look normal and natural.
