After experiencing great discomfort because of her large breasts, this 39-year-old mother was ready to see surgeon who performed breast reduction in Los Angeles about her concerns. When she came to Dr. Stoker's practice for her consultation, she was very eager to discuss her options for surgery.

Her surgeon recommended that she have a breast reduction and lift to not only reduce her breast size, but to treat sagging as well. After some discussion they determined that her surgeon would use a short incision technique. The short incision technique would minimize scarring since her surgeon would only make incisions around the areolas (the skin around the nipple) and draw a line along the bottom contour of her breast. Using this type of incision would also allow her surgeon to reduce the size of her areolas, which were larger than desired.

Laser breast surgery provides continued support for the breast tissue following a breast lift. The surgeon will take a section of skin that is usually removed and discarded during a breast lift and treat it with a CO2 laser before suturing it to the chest wall underneath the breast. This skin creates an internal support that keeps the breasts looking perky and youthful long after surgery.

Following her plastic surgery, this patient's breasts and areolas are smaller and more symmetrical than before. She was very pleased with the youthful-looking results after feeling immediate relief from her previous discomfort.
