We have a great example of this 53-year-old male patient who worked out very hard, as you can tell from his muscular build. And he was also trying to eat healthily, but as he is now 53 years old, in the last 20 years, he's slowly gained a little bit of weight with each decade. And that's pretty typical. He was bothered by his appearance. He felt like he was doing everything within his reasonable power to make himself appear as good as he could. So I recommended him abdominal etching and 360-degree power-assisted liposuction.

Abdominal etching is where I create the illusion of enhanced abdominal musculature of the rectus abdominis muscles by strategically removing fat from certain abdomen areas. I also remove fat around his waist and the flanks, in particular, otherwise known as the love handles. Almost every guy gets those as they enter their forties or fifties. One of the most fun things about this is that I believe it inspires patients to take it to the next level. I work hard for them in my morning of surgery, doing the best I can. But when the patient is a contributor, when they partner with me in doing the best they can to improve their appearance, they can take it to a whole new level.
