There is no shortage of superlatives used to describe various aesthetic treatments. Few often live up to the hype. But AquaGold treatments—which have been called “super mega facials”—exceed expectations. That’s why they are creating a buzz throughout Los Angeles and at my plastic surgery practice. The customized procedure combines BOTOX® and filler injections along with serums to produce superb results.
Most facials are soothing, and they’re a treat many of our patients can’t do without. Most facials, however, address specific conditions. What if you could get a single, transformative facial that provides multiple benefits in a single procedure? That describes an AquaGold treatment.
Take a customized vial mixed with everything you need to resolve a range of skin concerns and attach it to a series of 20 gold-coated needles, each smaller than a piece of hair, and you have AquaGold. Coating the needles in gold minimizes the chance of irritation or an allergic reaction. Most importantly, the needles are hollow, so they deliver the carefully concocted contents of that vial underneath the skin for maximum efficacy.
Benefits of AquaGold Treatments
What does it mean that we can customize AquaGold treatments? The key is we can create a cocktail of serums, fillers, and neuromodulators, along with even antioxidants, to address specific skin conditions for each patient. That’s why the list of benefits is so extensive. They include:
- Shrinking pores
- Improving skin tone
- Hydrating skin
- Reducing fine lines
- Minimizing acne scars
You can really summarize these benefits by saying your skin is going to be much smoother and refreshed after an AquaGold treatment.
What Happens During a Treatment?
If you’ve ever experienced a typical microneedling procedure at our Los Angeles practice, the AquaGold procedure will seem very similar. The process begins with one of our aesthetic specialists applying a topical numbing cream to your face to ensure you remain comfortable during the treatment. When you’re ready, the specialist begins creating microchannels using the AquaGold device, which also delivers the customized elixir of skin-enhancing ingredients into the skin’s superficial layer.
One of the benefits of these microinfusion treatments compared to microneedling is the lack of downtime. Your face may be red immediately after the treatment, but the redness tends to fade within an hour or 2. Microneedling penetrates deeper into the skin and requires a couple of days to recover. Patients who get AquaGold treatments can expect results to last for a month or more before a follow-up procedure is recommended.
